When Civilizations First Meet
By abg | January 8, 2009
I just picked up Lord of the Kongo which is a saga in the vein of Shogun. It is loosely based on true people and events just like Shogun was. I just started the book but what struck me (even at this early stage) is how the Portuguese look like they are going to get the better of the relationship between themselves and the Kongo. I read Shogun years ago but I do remember the Japanese keeping the Europeans in their place and picking their brains for their technology.
